Air-operating gas sensor based on novel photonic crystal fiber (PCF) technology. PCF is used as a gas cell. We improved this technology by using 3D-nano structuring, which allows to reduse reaction time of detector.

This device has several outstanding characteristics:

• Long service lifetime of device.
• Wide range of measuring gas concentrations.
• High stability of sensor.
• Low power consumption versus analogues. Catalytic bead sensors consume more than 100mA. Photonic crystal sensor—less than 10 mA.
• Sensor has a high cross-selectivity—an important parameter of gas sensors.
• Sensor is compact sized versus analogues.
